Document Locking
With the document locking feature, Link users can see if a document (such as purchase invoices, sales invoices, bank statements, scheduled tasks) is already being processed by another user (e.g., an invoice awaiting action). A locked document is indicated by a lock icon (a red circle with a line through it). Locking prevents simultaneous processing of documents.
Removing the Lock
If necessary, the document lock can be removed. When a user opens a locked document, the program displays who is currently processing the document and the time of processing. The most recent save time of the document affects how to proceed:
- If the save date and time are current: another user is currently processing the same document. Close the document without processing it using the Close button and return to it later.
- If the save date and time are in the past: you can remove the document lock (Remove Lock and Close) and continue processing the document.
