General Information about Bank Accounts
For clients using the Purchase ledger module, a Sepa connection and the payer's bank identifier (bank information) must be specified, as well as the details of the bank accounts from which the invoices will be paid.
Bank account information recycling for customers using Purchase Invoices workflow is unnecessary. The Bank Account field in the general settings of Purchase Invoices (Settings – General – My Information) is only to users of the Emce Salaries interface.
Adding a Bank Account to Settings
- Go to the Settings – Bank Accounts view
- Click the New button
- Complete the information in the opened window
- Save the information finally with the Save button.
Bank account number
Enter the national bank account number (BBAN) of the company using Purchase Invoices from which the invoices will be paid. When you enter the bank account number and click on the bank account name field, the IBAN + swift will be filled in automatically. The national bank account number should be entered in the field without dashes.
Use as default bank account - in this field, a checkmark is placed on the bank account settings from which invoices are most commonly paid. This bank account will be the default selection for the payment batch after choosing the setting. The payment account can be changed during the payment batch if desired.
Bank account name
Enter a name for the bank account. Generally, bank accounts are named according to the bank where the account is held. If there are multiple accounts at the same bank, it is advisable to name the account in a way that distinguishes it from the others.
Bank Group/Foreign Bank
When you click on the Foreign Bank option, you can enter the name of the foreign bank in the field that appears above. Foreign bank accounts may be needed for recycling Purchase Invoices to transfer to external accounts payable. Please note that there are no payment connections from accounts payable Purchase Invoices to foreign banks; payments can only be made through Finnish banks.
IBAN
If the national bank account number information is missing, you can directly enter the IBAN-formatted account number in the IBAN field. The program will automatically fill in the bank account number field.
The IBAN account number is in the format FIxx12345612345678, where
– FI is the country code for Finland
– xx is the IBAN check digits
– 12345612345678 is the Finnish national account number in machine-readable format.
Swift/BIC
Enter the swift/bic code related to the IBAN account. This field will be automatically filled if a Finnish bank account number is provided in the IBAN or Bank Account Number field.
The identifiers of Finnish financial institutions can be checked here (referenced 07/2021).
Payee's bank identifier
Provide the bank identifier you received from the bank for identifying the payment in the Purchase Invoices SEPA payment.
Bookkeeping account
Select the appropriate bookkeeping account corresponding to the bank account from the dropdown menu of the field. E.g., 1920. The account must be set up in the Purchase Invoices account chart (Registers – Chart of Accounts).
The information below will be automatically filled/updated according to the retrieved bank statement.
