Remove two-factor authentication
The security of using the program can be significantly enhanced by enabling two-factor authentication. Two-factor authentication is an important tool aimed at ensuring that only you have access to your user account in case your password is stolen or compromised in any other way. With two-factor authentication enabled, in addition to your password, you need to verify your login with a one-time code that is sent to your preferred authentication app.
Two-factor authentication can be used when logging into Heeros financial management software and Heeros Mobile.
Activate two-factor authentication
Enabling two-factor authentication is a user-specific choice, and its activation is done through the My Account settings.
- Go to person icon - My account.
- Check that you have a valid e-mail address that cannot be found behind another username. This ensures that the password can be changed if necessary.
- Download the authentication app you want to use from AppStore or Google Play if you don't have one yet. You will see list of compatible apps by clicking the link.
- Open the application and scan the QR-code.
- Write the verification code you find in the app. Depending on the authentication app, the code might be named differently. The code is 6 digit long and changes every 30-90 seconds.
After taking this feature into use you will need the authentication app every time to log in, in addition to your normal login information.
Notifications for using Heeros Mobile or eSalaries
If you are using the Heeros Mobile or eSalaries application, please take note of the following points regarding authentication.
Important notification for using Heeros Mobile app:
When using the Mobile app, you log in with a PIN code that is valid for 90 days. To renew the PIN code, you need to perform a new login and obtain the authentication code from the authenticator app. However, the authentication code is not required for every login to the mobile app.
If you are using the same device for both Heeros Mobile and authentication, quickly copying the code can be challenging. Here's a tip: Wait for the code to change and then copy it (for example, by long-pressing the code in the Google Authenticator app). Afterward, you can directly paste the code into Heeros Mobile.
Important notification for using eSalaries
Please enter the authentication code from the authentication app into the User Management of eSalaries, in addition to your Heeros credentials, and click the Testaa yhteys button. After that, a date will appear indicating how long the connection is valid. Every 90 days, you should add a new authentication code and test the connection again.
Remove two-factor authentication
If you no longer want to use two-factor authentication or there are problems with the usage or you want to change the app used for authentication, you can deactivate it.
- Go to person icon - My account.
- Click deactivate.
