Locking Date
In the general settings of the Accounting, a lock date can be set on the Accounting Settings tab. The locking date is a mandatory information for entering transactions. The locking date prevents posting transactions on or before the locking date. For example, if the locking date is 31.12.2023, you cannot post transactions for the accounting period from 1.1.2023 to 31.12.2023 or any previous accounting periods.
The main user of the company can change the locking date. By changing the locking date, you can enable entering transactions.
Note: The transfers from Sales Invoices and Purchase Invoices takes into account the locking dates in the Account receivable and Accounts payable:
When transfers are made from Sales Invoices or Purchase Invoices, these locking dates are also mandatory. Without locking dates, the transfers cannot be made and a notification about the locking date will appear on the transfer report.
Locking the Financial year
You can also lock an individual financial year completely. Locking is done in the Settings - Financial Years view by opening the respective financial year and selecting Locked - Yes. If an financial year is locked, no transactions can be entered for it anymore. If necessary, the locking of the accounting period can be removed (Locked - No).
Locking the Period
Individual periods can also be locked. Locking is done in the Settings - Periods view by opening the respective period and selecting Locked - Yes. If a period is locked, no transactions can be entered for it anymore. If necessary, the locking of the period can be removed (Locked - No).
